9. Text.	Voldis writes that he has no time to answer to her letter. He works at the loading of barges. The work is organized in a close group of workers. It is possible to earn rather good money - about 2-3.5 roubles per day. The weather here is good - the trees and grass are turning green. Best regards to Zelma's parents.

11. Comments.	The last name of the author is not mentioned on the card. I found it comparing this card with E-1. The payment was really good. I guess in Riga it was possible to earn about 1-1.5 roubles per day for this kind of work. However one should work several months to pay the travel to Irkutsk, that is very far. Irkutsk province was a standard place to sent revolutionaries in exile, but they were not obliged to work and usually did not. Obviously Voldemar brought postcards with him, because the verse on the card is in Latvian.

11. Comments.	I am not sure I deciphered the name Gretel correctly. The last name of the addressees is not known. I included this card in the file for "G" because it seems that the girls were well known to Dr. Gerich and quite possibly lived at his appartments. However it does not mean they had the same family name.

11. Comments.	Ziniņa is a diminutive for Zina what in its turn could be a shortened form for Zinaida. It seems that the author was a schoolgirl (hand-writing, style and mistakes).

11. Comments.	The nickname used by the author in the signature means - "little orphaned girl" and evidently was used just to express the sorrow to be far from the addressee. It is clear from the grammar that the author is a women. But what they needed the snakes for? In the history of Latvian theatre there is mentioned Mirdza Gornitz as an actress of two theaters: Ceļojošais teātris and Pārdaugavas teātris. The both theatres existed in 30's and never were leading theatres, I think.

The Latvian text is written with great German accent but one can understand it. The name of the author was not clear till in TD 1939 F.Hofenšefer Vilandes str. 10 was found. This spelling corresponds to the one used by Frida, it is just more Latvian style. In TD 1940 the address of F.Hofenšefer was Vilandes 18.

11. Comments.	The address was written in Russian what was against the rules in 1929 and Alexander str. at that time was Brīvības str. However the post office found the addressee. On this street the Cathedral of Russian Ortodoxal Church is situated. In Soviet time it was reconstructed and a planetarium was installed there, now it functions again as the cathedral.

9. Text.	Pauls informs that he has moved now to the Reserve regiment of Latvian troops. Previously he was in Trasport (?) and thought that will stay there till the end of the war. However the soldiers should go where they are sent to. He hopes that the life at the new place will be not so bad. His health is good and he has also some money. His address is: Field Forces, Latvian Infantry reserve regiment, 3 company, 1 platoon.

11. Comments.	I am not sure in the place where Pauls served before. He wrote with a pencil and had no great practice in writing. I deciphered the place or troop name as Trasport but it does not associate with any known names. Quite possibly Pauls name also was Grundenieks.

9. Text.	The author has received his certificates from Novgorod real school. In the nearest future he is going to write an application. Then he will see if he would fit for the officer rank.

11. Comments.	The card was not cancelled so it has no marks of post office. This is why I have no information where the author was at that time. Presumably it could be an officer school maybe in Vilnius, but nobody knows.

11. Comments.	I am not sure I could understand correctly and to translate the phrase "wahschu potehschana". It may be quite possible that this is a sort of hint especially in the connection of the visit of urjadnik i.e. a policeman. I think that the author made mistake in spelling the name Eichmanis. According to the mail delivery system of Livlands province, the mail was first delivered to the nearest railway station - in this case Taivola in the Estonian part of Livland's province. Now Taivola is called Taheva, it is situated in Estonia and is not a railway station, because the narrow gauge railway line here does not exist more.
