The document presented in this Page informs about the legal consequences of road accidents in 1804. Actually the document consists of two parts. The first part is the letter of Livland's governor J. von Repief to the population of the province. The letter informs about the order of the Tzar to the Minister of the Interior Prince Kurakin. It also contains the order to the town Police officials to supervise the fulfillment of Tzar's order. The second part of the document is the actual letter of the Tzar to A.B.Kurakin. Below only this second part is published. As far as I understand, the letter was translated in German by St. Petersburg's clerks and cascaded to Livland's officials. |
