This is the list of Jewish enterprise owners in Daugavpils [Dünaburg, Dvinsk] for the time period from the beginning of the factories in the city to 1940, when the private enterprises ended to exist. The list was compiled by Zalman Jakub and was published as an appendix to his article about Jews in Daugavpils in the collection of articles Jews in Daugavpils. Historical essays. Daugavpils. 1993 (In Russian). The list is published here for education and scientific purposes only and can not be used for profit. In the column Year the year should be registered when the enterprise was founded, but the compiler had no information about the exact dates for the factories founded in the 1920s and the 1930s. In the original text the enterprises were grouped by the date of foundation, but here they are grouped alphabetically by the names of the owners. The list is copied here as it is in the book. The original Russian names were transcripted in English in the text of the table. The rules of transcription were applied according to my understanding. All the names are presented at the top of the Page in Latvian, as I usually do on this Site. |
