The inscription on the backside of the photograph
informs that this is a group of cub scouts (vilcēni)
in Alūksne photographed on Dec. 13, 1929. Unfortunately no information more.

The inscription bears only the place and the date
- Gaujiena [Adsel], Aug.22, 1937 |

A group of Liepaja [Libau] school girls in 1914. Only one
first name is known - Mariņa. |

The society of students in Trikata. March 1926.
I do not know what this society was busy with. Everybody whose ancestors
came from Trikata and studied in a higher education institution in or prior
1926 is proposed to have a look at this photograph. |

These nice happy young ladies look like medical nurses. Strictly
speaking, milkmaids or other women engaged in the food production also wore
white clothes. This should be a graduation event because the older woman
in the centre of the picture had received flowers and a wooden dish. |

The photograph shows a group of secondary school
students. I think they look like Jewish. The Jewish students wore hats like
these, they (hats) were dark blue and had Magen David sewn on their top
surface. The photograph was taken in Latvia what I conclude from the plain
Latvian ornaments on the surface behind the group. Please vote for or against
the explanations. |
 |
Only the date of the photographing of this group
is known - Nov.18, 1938. Evidently this was a celebration of 20 years of
Latvia. At the first glance I thought this was a chorus, but the grouping
of men and women does not correspond to this assumption. |
